Mourning MySpace?

Despite numerous re-branding attempts, it seems that MySpace just can’t figure out how to pull itself from the grave. We’ve all heard a million jokes at its expense, but at least one person is a bit nostalgic for the good ole MySpace days. Superstar DJ A-Trak (of “Barbra Streisand” fame) still thinks that MySpace was the best social media format we’ve seen for bands and artists in the music industry. He reminds us that MySpace single-handedly featured all of a band’s info (tour dates, songs, photos, blogging, fan questions, etc.), something that Facebook still hasn’t mastered. Plus remember those awesome GIF wallpapers that people had? “Compare that to Facebook where everybody has the same blue-grey theme that looks like the Post Office.” While he doesn’t necessarily want MySpace to come back, he issues a challenge to the tech/music world to come up with a medium that delivers “the full picture.”

To all the music fans out there… Are you nostalgic yet?
