Smirnoff Love Wins Launch @ Stonewall Inn

with one comment

Last week, Smirnoff officially launched their Limited-Edition No. 21 Vodka “Love Winsbottle in their continued support of the LGBTQ community. No two bottles are identical as they each feature a unique rainbow color aesthetic as well as various polaroid images of real couples on every bottle created and photographed by San Francisco-based photographer Sarah Deragon.

The launch was held at the iconic Stonewall Inn NYC, a national historic landmark site that launched the riots and modern LGBT rights movement. MKTG had the supreme pleasure of being at the forefront of transforming the iconic venue, elevating the look and feel of the space and executing the “Smirnoff Love Wins Launch Party.” The launch party also included several major media and social influencers such as Girl With No Job, Bachelorette Caila Quinn and several more.

Smirnoff has committed to donating $1f or every limited-edition bottle created (not, not just sold but created) to the Human Rights Campaign, which has currently equated to $260,000.
Go out there and buy your limited-edition bottle and support the cause!

Smirnoff House at EDC Orlando: #LoveWins

with one comment

smirnoffhouse
It’s been a busy year for MKTG’s Smirnoff team and our client with the success of Smirnoff House, popping up at key EDM festivals throughout the year. This past weekend, the House made its final 2016 appearance at Electric Daisy Carnival, Orlando and it was an extra special event.Smirnoff is a big supporter of the LGBT community, and with this activation being in Orlando, we partnered with Pulse Nightclub, inviting some of their regular DJs to play at the House and be a part of the official lineup. We also had some of the bartenders from Pulse working at the activation and embracing #LoveWins (as beautifully illustrated on the House’s façade).

Even in the rain, the House and garden were packed from start to finish. The reputation of Smirnoff House is definitely getting out there, with it becoming a destination stage that festival attendees specifically seek out.

Check out some more coverage of Smirnoff House at EDC Orlando here and here, and some amazing photos below!

Smirnoff House: The Party Is Just Getting Started

with one comment

 FotorCreated
MKTG has already brought some serious Smirnoff House party vibes to the Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas & HARD Summer this year- and we’re just getting started.  The House’s intimate stage puts you only a fist bump away from your favorite headlining DJs, many of whom just finished playing in front of 70,000+ crowds at a main stage.DJs in our House use this platform to transcend typical genre boundaries playing their favorite floor-shaking sounds (it literally shakes!) and pairing up with other top artists B2B (that’s back-to-back, for all you EDM newbies) to create a special moment for their fans. You never know who will show up to crash this House party until they’re behind the decks (sometimes we don’t even know)!

Smirnoff House will be throwing it down again at Nocturnal Wonderland during Labor Day Weekend (9/2 – 9/4) and EDC Orlando (11/4 – 11/5) to round out 2016.  We are gearing up for an even more massive 2017 festival season, but in the meantime, be sure to check out some WTF moments.

If you can’t crash our party at a festival near you, don’t fret. Here are some of our FAVORITE SETS in their entirety to turn your desk, living room or wherever into your own Smirnoff House party!

16th Annual Tales of the Cocktail: MKTG & Diageo Making A Splash Together

without comments

MKTG and Diageo made a splash at the 16th annual Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans (July 19-24, 2016). TOTC is the world’s premier cocktail festival for both industry and consumers, sponsoring a series of seminars, tasting rooms, spirited dinners and volunteer events with the Bon Vivants (San Francisco-based & nationally recognized cocktail, hospitality, marketing and design firm). Immersive experiences allowed attendees to experience innovative Canadian-themed cocktails by Crown Royal, rejuvenate in the morning at the Tanqueray Gin & Juice bar, taste rare malts from the scotch portfolio- brought together by some of the greatest bartenders in the world at the World Class Family Reunion dinner and let loose at the #DiageoGames portfolio party.

Some highlights included:

Ode to the Bowl: Tequila Don Julio, Zacapa Rum, Ketel One Vodka and Bulleit Bourbon sponsored the unofficial kick-off to Tales of the Cocktail at the world-famous Rock’n’Bowl lanes, in a partnership with the Spare Room in Los Angeles. Teams from around the globe competed for the Punch Bowl prize, with Team London bringing home the gold!

World Class Family Reunion: After five years of touring the country and looking for the best bartenders, Diageo’s World Class program hosted a dinner to reunite past competitors and reminisce about the challenges and triumphs of the past five years.

#DiageoGames Portfolio Party: Diageo showcased 14 of its brands at the Diageo Games, arguably one of the most talked-about events at Tales of the Cocktail this year. Each brand represented a country, and activities that consumers could participate in included volleyball, badminton, speed-walking and foosball.

A buzz was building throughout the week with the “Follow the Torch” campaign and hashtag.  Bartender Sean Kenyon and a group of 15 bartenders began the journey with the torch in Denver, CO, riding their motorcycles to New Orleans, and the journey was completed throughout the week of Tales of the Cocktail in the French Quarter by bartenders on a custom, branded pedicab with inflatable torches. Each leg of the run was shared on social media, and generated more than 53,000 likes and views.

Tasting Room- A Spirited Celebration of the Americas: Lauren Mote (2015 Canadian World Class Champion and co-founder of Bittered Sling Bitters) partnered with Diageo’s Reserve Brands to execute this tasting room to take guests on a tour from Western Canada to the Southern United States, mid-Mexico through to Central America, with a quick bounce to the Patagonian region of South America, all told through the story of cocktails.

Guests enjoyed the following cocktails, brought to life in posters and recipe postcards designed by New Orleans-based artist Phillip Collier:

Neerlandia: Ketel One Vodka, Caesar Mix & Bittered Sling Gastown Bitters

Freemasonry Fizz: A breakfast-inspired Ramos gin fizz featuring Tanqueray No. TEN with local organic eggs & Fruit Loop cereal garnish

Anacafé: Zacapa Rum 23 paired with fresh espresso, yellow Chartreuse & Giffard Banane

Century Plant: Tequila Don Julio Blanco, Mezcal, Aloe Vera Juice, Ginger, Lime & Gose beer

Speed Rack Takes On Cancer Research

with one comment

speedrack1

Over the course of the last few years, the mixology industry has raised (and dominated) the bar to stand at the forefront of the service industry. Bartenders all over the country are rising to the occasion and proving that passion (and getting their elbows dirty from time to time) are the two main ingredients that drive the craft that inspires them each and every day. Visit a cocktail bar in your town and take a moment to notice how much thought, care, and time goes into the drink sitting in front of you. Read up on the bartending competitions that tour across the country, spreading education and affording bartenders the opportunity to elevate their game (World Class, anyone?). Recognize the efforts that are being made to not only shed light on the mixology industry, but also to spread awareness on charitable causes near and dear to the craft.

Here’s where Speed Rack comes in.

Founded in 2011, Ivy Mix and Lynnette Marrero teamed up to create an all-female bartending competition that honors women in the spirit industry while raising money for breast cancer research, education and prevention. Spanning across 8 different cities, the organizers, competitors, and volunteers involved with Speed Rack are some of the industry’s best and brightest in the country, donating their time and talent to a double-edged cause that promotes female bartenders and puts 100% of event proceeds towards breast cancer. And if that’s not enough of a reason to learn more, do yourselves a favor and check out what these competitors are bringing to the table.

Portland Cocktail Week: Tanqueray Lounge

with one comment

PDXCW15_Tanqueray_Masters_Dinner-014

During Portland Cocktail Week, Tanqueray sponsored three separate nights of activations. The Tanqueray lounge was a juice lounge for bartenders to relax, unwind, and charge their phones at our charging station. Green Leaf Juicing Company sponsored the juice portion of the lounge with sample giveaways plus a bottle giveaway for each bartender’s favorite juice. Rachel Ford aka “Lady Tanqueray,” hosted a meet and greet to speak to Tanqueray and pass out 50MLs of Tanqueray London Dry that bartenders could add to their choice of juice.

The Sensory Aesthetics of Garniture

Lynette Marrero and Rachel Ford led this two-hour session for two groups of 15 students. The seminar focused on the history of gins, importance of garnitures, and the best methods to prepare garnishes as well as techniques and trends.

Tanqueray Dinner at 23Hoyt

Tanqueray hosted dinner for 35 students, trainers and teachers while Rachel Ford spoke to the four cocktails that were going to be featured that evening. The featured gins of the evening were Tanqueray Bloomsbury, Booth’s, Tanqueray No. TEN and Tanqueary.
