Art that sells itself (literally)

A Tool to Deceive and Slaughter (2009) - Caleb Larsen

Imagine if you will, an 8″x8″x8″ box made of Acrylic, that perpetually attempts to sell itself on eBay every 7 days.

Every ten minutes the black box pings a server on the internet via the ethernet connection to check if it is for sale on eBay. If its auction has ended or it has sold, it automatically creates a new auction of itself.

Stanley Kubrick would’ve been proud of the monolith Caleb Larson created.  It’s also an amazing foray into creating perceived value in an object, or in this case an experience.

Not to always bring things back to what we do here @ MKTG, but selling experiences IS what we do, and the more interesting they are, the more valuable they become.
