Cut and Paste Advertising

Verizon’s campaign against AT&T based on a superior 3G network– we’ve all seen it. And we’ve all seen AT&T’s less than stellar retaliation both in court and on air.

One of the more straightforward ads for Verizon ran this fall during football season:

There’s a second flight of this spot that has just begun, but if you look closely it’s a little different. What’s that on the screen? A basketball game, not football. Well, it is March.

A strange example of plug and chug, mass production with consumer passion points. Cost effective? Sure. Compelling connection? Not so much. But I guess this is as close to agility as advertising gets.

I assume baseball is next to stretch it through summer. Perhaps if they had done Curling during the Olympics….
