Good Guerilla

Spotted on my way home from work last night: “Bullet hole” static cling decals on a bunch of cars along my route. I took these pictures with my cell, so in case it’s hard to tell through the blur, the text reads:
Mafia Wars
A heist went down in
your hood today.

Almost makes this Wii Fit girl want to play a shoot-’em-up. In any case, it got me to the website.
LET IT BURN

Pretty cool skateboard video that shows little to no branding for Coca-Cola Burn energy drink. The riders were actually set on fire in this video. No stuntmen were used. Filming was done in Mexico.

TRUSTOCORP IS ON THE MAP
This is a follow up to the 1/15/2009 post highlighting TrustoCorp after signs were popping out in Miami during Art Basel. TristERRRRRR- TrustoCorp takes on the island of Manhattan and in their words, “highlighting the hilarity & hypocrisy of human behavior.” Takes on an interesting shape. CLICK HERE to check out their new addition to the campaign.
Guerrilla Gardening

We all know what guerrilla marketing is by now. Another clandestine op that’s not quite as well known yet is guerrilla gardening—unofficially greening up barren corners of whatever concrete metropolis you live in.
Now, a company called Common Studio has made it easier to throw plant grenades (little balls of clay, seeds and earthworm stuff) by creating Greenaid, combining vending machines and public activism. All you do is pop a quarter into a “candy” machine, get a ball, clandestinely plant it where you will and wait for it to turn an empty lot into an urban oasis. That’s seriously underground.

EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP
Bansky presents: The Lambeth Palace
It’s a makeshift 150-seat auditorium in a tunnel under Waterloo train station with popcorn stall, lounge bar and stunning temporary toilet facilities now showing his movie Exit Through The Gift Shop.
Banksy is everywhere. You’re never there. See more inside the theater at cakeheadlovesevil.wordpress.com.
