MKTG, take note: if my morning commute was like this, I would come to work every single day…

Taxi of Tomorrow

without comments

taxioftomorrow_nissanpublictaxioftomorrow_karsan2taxioftomorrow_transitconnect4It’s yellow with 4 wheels, but the Taxi of Tomorrow is a different beast than today’s cabs. For starters, it’s a minivan. We know this because all three finalists in the Taxi of Tomorrow competition are minivans. Soccer moms not included.

Instead, passengers will find ample head room, sloping picture windows and a roomy trunk, among other cool perks. The winner will become the official taxi cab of New York City in 2014, replacing the current fleet of sedans and SUVs with a single design that’s both fuel-efficient and wheelchair accessible.

The winner will be announced early next year, and you could have an impact on the chosen design. Fill out an online survey for a chance to win $5,000 in free cab rides. With that kind of payout, who needs the Cash Cab?

Anonymous Hookups

Seeking an anonymous hookup for hot, public, file swapping? Score! German artist and architect Adam Bartholl has ‘injected’ 5 USB ports into walls throughout New York City.

According to his blog, “Dead Drops’ is an anonymous, offline, peer to peer file-sharing network in public space. I am ‘injecting’ USB flash drives into walls, buildings and curbs accessible to anybody in public space. You are invited to go to these places (so far 5 in NYC) to drop or find files on a dead drop. Plug your laptop to a wall, house or pole to share your favorite files and data.”

Check out his blog for a map of locations.

Now my only question is if I want to practice safe swapping, where can I buy a USB condom?
