Office Space

The New York Egotist was kind enough to post a short piece about our New York office and all the cool things inside of it. We’re talking large blocks of inspirational text (see above), video game stations, and a fully stocked in-house bar. Like W.C. Fields said, “There are only two real ways to get ahead – sell liquor or drink it.” At MKTG INC, we do both. Occasionally at the same time.

This commute is a trip
MKTG, take note: if my morning commute was like this, I would come to work every single day…
Atomic Phones
What would you do if someone stole all your band’s instruments, leaving you with nothing but your phone? Duh. Start an iPhone band.
Using nothing but 4 iPhone apps, Brooklyn-based Atomic Tom took their show on the…uh…track. They found a free venue with a captive audience: the New York City subway.
Here’s to turning the B train into the Beat train. There’s hope yet for my commute home.

GORILLA IN THE ROOM
If you are in the area, stop by Lyons Wier Gallery and check out their current exhibition featuring Hebru Brantley and Christophe Roberts. The above piece is one of Christophe’s; he turns empty Nike boxes into wild animals.
Show runs September 9th through October 4th. Opening is this Friday at 6-9pm.
TRUSTOCORP IS ON THE MAP
This is a follow up to the 1/15/2009 post highlighting TrustoCorp after signs were popping out in Miami during Art Basel. TristERRRRRR- TrustoCorp takes on the island of Manhattan and in their words, “highlighting the hilarity & hypocrisy of human behavior.” Takes on an interesting shape. Snow Run 2010
It was brisk that day; a mixture of not only cold, but wet, with a gusting wind, and foreboding overtone. Not a day for a run. Not a day for much of anything really. We were undeterred.
Our shorts were just that. Our arms, bared. The flag? Majestic.
We’d go over six miles that day, weaving our way through city streets blanketed with course salt and freshly fallen snow. We never really felt the cold, the sleet, the stares – only the pride. GBA.
