MKTG NY Volunteers at Gods Love We Deliver

without comments

Yesterday members of MKTG NY spent the afternoon volunteering at Gods Love We Deliver packaging food for those in need. The mission of GLWD is to help alleviate hunger and malnutrition by delivering over 7,000 nutritious meals daily to those who are suffering from serious illness. We are thrilled to support such a great cause and look forward to continuing to do so in 2018!

In the week leading up to the jersey unveil, Nike+ NYC hosted a series of “Color Rush” themed runs throughout the city. Last night Nike trainer Knox Robinson led a 4.5 mile run through the city which ended at Midtown bar Snaffu 28. Runners were greeted with food and drink and of course, a live streaming of the Jets vs. Bills game!

Don Julio Shakes Things Up at FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen

with one comment

001__MG_2061In honor of founder, Don Julio González, and his passionate pursuit to craft the world’s finest luxury tequila, Tequila Don Julio has introduced a vintage fleet of pickup trucks from the 1942-era that represent his unparalleled spirit and legacy. Each truck comes with a high tech cocktail tap system (installed by the Airstream Speakeasy team) that can serve crafted cocktails at a high volume for large-scale events. This single tower, dual tap nitrogen system features 25 gallons worth of cocktail storage that ensures speed of service at the perfect temperature.

This “Craft on Draft” system came in handy at several culinary events around the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen this year. MKTG INC brought the truck and Denver’s finest mixologists to epicurean celebrations such as Heritage Fire: a gathering of 50+ chefs who practiced wood-fired, whole animal cooking techniques over live-fires, Sunday Fun Day: an industry only day consisting of beef and eggs, white water rafting and a 200 2-pound lobster feed, and the annual Last Man Standing Party: a fete not to miss at the scenic mountain top park overlooking Aspen.

The trucks will be based in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Whether you’re enjoying delicious food at a culinary festival or taking in the sounds at the summer’s hottest music festivals, be sure to keep your eyes peeled since the trucks will serve innovative seasonal drinks to enjoy at any occasion.

TopSpin 2014

MKTG INC and TopSpin, a national philanthropic group dedicated to empowering America’s youth through education, brought together members of the sports, media and entertainment industries on Wednesday, December 10th for the sixth annual TopSpin charity table tennis tournament at Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.

Dozens of celebrities, including current and former athletes including John Starks, John Wallace and Zab Judah, supported #TopSpin2014, which is produced pro-bono each year through our MKTG4GOOD initiative. In addition to world-class table tennis, the event featured three DJ’s, 15 food stations, top shelf bars, a silent auction and much more.

Proceeds benefit youth and education-focused programs in the New York metropolitan area. This year the money raised went to Horizons – BFS, A Better Chance, Wishbone, New Heights and Prep for Prep. With over 1,250 in attendance, the event raised $400k for these valuable programs.

Eat the Chart. You’re welcome.

These foods can starve cancer

These foods can starve cancer

Dr. William Li says we can eat the food in the chart, and it helps starve cancer (see article here: William Li, Angiogenesis).  This is from the TED conference via Boing Boing.  It further proves that everything good comes from Boing Boing, TED, or me.   I am not sure why the chart wants us to eat characters from Lost, but why question?

TED hearts Jamie, too

ted jamie

I’ve been a huge Jamie Oliver fan since I was a fluttery high school girl.  In fact, when it comes to Jamie, I am still a fluttery high school girl.  These days, though, it has less to do with his boyish, British charm than his food philosophy, both in and out of the kitchen.  Of course, his cooking style is still as simple, seasonal, and flavorful as always (and just watch the man chop an onion…! But I digress).

Nurses at HospittalDoctors at HospitalHospital Restaurant

Nah – would be weird. But from the blog “Cool things in Random Places”  we get news via this post of Hospitalis Restaurant. From the blog, “In Riga, Latvia, a truly cool and bizarre themed restaurant, accented with all things medical. Once you arrive at Hospitalis, patrons check in as patients, and are served by nurses, as doctors prepare the dishes. Doctors will also prepare your drinks in beakers and test tubes.”  Um, wow. You see a  Full Story here.
