MKTG SF CSR + Teambuilding Day

with one comment

On August 23rd, our San Francisco office cleared their calendars (for the most part, pending client commitments) and committed, as a group, to a full day of giving back, capped off by a team outing at a local watering hole.

In the morning, they gathered in the SF office to stuff care packages for soldiers as part of our client Crown Royal’s “Packages from Home” initiative. The mission of “Packages From Home” is to send care and comfort packages to deployed American military heroes who are stationed in active duty locales around the world, as well as to facilitate activities that elevate morale of all veterans.

Over 250 bright purple Crown Royal-emblazed felt baggies were stuffed to the gills with goodies like Slim Jims, Oreos, Fruit Snacks, Pringles, Pop Tarts, Crystal Lite On-The-Go, Peanut Butter packets, toothbrushes and mouthwash, and most importantly, a signed postcard of gratitude and well wishes.

Next up, the MKTGers got to tap into their creative sides while partnering with Meals on Wheels SF to make over 100 birthday cards for the seniors in their immediate community. The team is known for their incredible attention to details when working for clients like Facebook and Google, so you can be sure they cards and messages made a huge difference in the senior neighbor’s days!

Finally, at about 1:30 they team headed out to SPARK Social, a food truck park, for a customized team building game of Survivor where they competed against one another as five tribes all in the quest to take home a fancy trophy and the ultimate bragging rights.

Take a look below to see how the day unfolded. Great fun everyone!

MKTG4GOOD: Goodies for the Troops

without comments

As part of our MKTG ongoing initiative to give back, our Crown Royal team brought together MKTG and DAN agencies for the opportunity to support Crown Royal’s partner “Packages from Home,” a program that encourages consumers to support overseas US troops by creating care packages through stuffing specially-branded Crown Royal bags with their top needs. The mission of Packages From Home is to send care and comfort packages to deployed American military heroes who are stationed in active duty locales around the world, as well as to facilitate activities that elevate morale of all veterans.

MKTG lead the effort and reached out to all DAN US Agencies asking them to participate, commit at least $500 in supplies and guarantee volunteers. The response was awesome. We’re thrilled to report that 651 goodie bags and personalized notes were pulled together last Thursday at many MKTG and DAN offices across the US, as well as the DAN HQ in midtown Manhattan. With another two offices to go, we are expecting to pack over 1,250 bags! The goodie bags (plush royal purple drawstring bags) were stuffed to the gills with treats like Slim Jims, Oreos, Fruit Snacks, Pringles, Pop Tarts, Crystal Lite On-The-Go, Peanut Butter packets, and most importantly, a signed postcard of gratitude and well wishes.

Many thanks to everyone that participated, especially those that took the time to organize the many elements needed to make this important initiative a success. Enjoy the photos below from the various offices having fun while giving back.

Red Nose Day @MKTG

with one comment

Red Nose Day, a fundraising campaign run by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc. that brings people together to have fun, raise money and change the lives of kids who need our help the most, launched in the US in 2015, and in the UK in 1988. The campaign is dedicated to ending child poverty, both in the US and in some of the poorest communities in the world. The money raised by Red Nose Day in the US has benefited programs for children and young people in all 50 states and in 34 countries internationally. Globally, Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion since its launch in the UK.

In support of Red Nose Day, MKTG offices across the US distributed red noses and hosted fundraising events. Take a look at some of the fun had about MKTGers below!

MKTG Westport Gives Back to St. Baldrick’s

with one comment

For seven years running, a small group out of the Westport MKTG office have been supporting the St. Baldricks children’s cancer charity, each pledging to shave their heads in return for charitable donations.

Childhood cancers are very different than adult cancers, but less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget is solely dedicated to childhood cancer research.  That is where St. Bladricks comes in. The foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. The charity has raised over $39 Million in 2017 alone.

We are very pleased to report that the team of Tom Hendry and Iain McWhirter surpassed their fundraising target of $5K, by raising $7,541 this year, taking the total raised for the charity to over $40K since 2011. Check out their new dos below!

Participants are given the opportunity to win weekly prizes, based on the completed number of workouts and healthy habits.

Along with negotiating the partnerships, MKTG developed the strategy, and currently are planning and executing the program nationally, bringing it to life at 26 Boys and Girls Clubs, in 6 cities, across 5 provinces, reaching over 1,100 kids.

MKTG4GOOD: MKTG San Francisco | Adopt a Family

with one comment

v3_adoptafamilybanner_2_afb-01

For the past month, the San Francisco office has been working with Adopt a Family as part of our annual winter corporate social responsibility event. Adopt a Family is a non-profit organization that pairs families in need with donors (like us!) and the donors  follow a wishlist and shop for holiday gifts for the families.

We received two families to support so we split the West Coast team (this included everyone in LA and our gals currently working in NY) up. We arranged as a little friendly competition and the teams signed up for items and shopped. Earlier this week, we gathered all of the gifts in San Fran and spent much of the day gift wrapping and getting everything ready to hand over to these amazing families. Take a look!
