 – March Madness is known for creating heart-stopping, awe-inspiring moments as 68 college basketball teams get whittled down to just one that is crowned the N.C.A.A. men’s basketball champion. For this year’s Final Four in Houston, Texas, N.C.A.A. sponsor AT&T worked with Team Epic and MKTG to create an immersive activation at the Final Four Fan Fest designed to help fans feel connected to the game, which ties to the brand’s marketing campaign.

“Our current campaign is all about the ‘Network of You’—how AT&T’s network is personalized and keeps you connected to the things that are important to you any time and any place,” said Enrique Casanova, vice president of Team Epic. “There is probably no other sporting event in this country that creates the roller coaster of emotions that the N.C.A.A. tournament does. So we wanted to see if there’s a way to capture that emotion in a tangible way and show people what it feels like, to give college basketball fans that very future-forward, connected experience.”

MKTG was thrilled to manage three separate AT&T activations during Final Four Fan Fest, March Madness & Tip Off Tailgate over the past few weeks! Our AT&T activation at Final Four Fan Fest was a 4-day hoops fan fest at the George R Brown Convention Center. It was an awesome space that featured: appearances by basketball legends and current college coaches, the AT&T Pressure Point, a fully-immersive experience leveraging AT&T technology that puts you on the foul line with a chance to win the NCAA Championship, a relaxing space to charge your devices while watching DIRECTV, a Vine Studio to beef up your social media game at the Final Four and a hoops legend photo op inside an AT&T Connected Car, powered by in-vehicle wi-fi. Take a look at the photo journey below:

The March Madness Music Festival was a 3-day music festival at Discovery Green in Downtown Houston, TX. Friday night was AT&T’s entitlement night, called AT&T Block Party #attblockparty where Lukas Graham, Panic! At the Disco and Fall Out Boy performed and absolutely brought the house down!

There was a brand experience and lounge activation all three nights featuring super cool dome structures with great lighting effects, customized screen print t-shirts, a Vine Studio to beef up your social media game at the festival, watch VR footage of other music performances in the Samsung VR area, a relaxing space to charge your devices while watching DIRECTV, a 360-degree photo op, Tip Off Tailgate, a 3-day tailgate activation outside nrg Stadium, AT&T Charging Zone featuring valet and while-you-wait charging, along with live DIRECTV to watch pre-game coverage!

Don Julio Shakes Things Up at FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen

001__MG_2061In honor of founder, Don Julio González, and his passionate pursuit to craft the world’s finest luxury tequila, Tequila Don Julio has introduced a vintage fleet of pickup trucks from the 1942-era that represent his unparalleled spirit and legacy. Each truck comes with a high tech cocktail tap system (installed by the Airstream Speakeasy team) that can serve crafted cocktails at a high volume for large-scale events. This single tower, dual tap nitrogen system features 25 gallons worth of cocktail storage that ensures speed of service at the perfect temperature.

This “Craft on Draft” system came in handy at several culinary events around the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen this year. MKTG INC brought the truck and Denver’s finest mixologists to epicurean celebrations such as Heritage Fire: a gathering of 50+ chefs who practiced wood-fired, whole animal cooking techniques over live-fires, Sunday Fun Day: an industry only day consisting of beef and eggs, white water rafting and a 200 2-pound lobster feed, and the annual Last Man Standing Party: a fete not to miss at the scenic mountain top park overlooking Aspen.

The trucks will be based in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Whether you’re enjoying delicious food at a culinary festival or taking in the sounds at the summer’s hottest music festivals, be sure to keep your eyes peeled since the trucks will serve innovative seasonal drinks to enjoy at any occasion.

MKTG Grows Hope With MSNBC

with one comment

Unknown-1Unknown

MSNBC is more than a cable news channel. It not only champions progressive issues and values, it seeks to directly engage with its viewers and their communities. So this year MSNBC launched Growing Hope – a campaign inspired in part by MKTG’s design for the channel at last year’s Essence Festival – to give people a voice around the issues that matter to them.

As developed by MKTG, the spirit of Growing Hope is embodied by a community garden, a place where people come together to nurture and grow. The symbol of Growing Hope is a grand solitary tree, evidence of the power and possibilities of voices united.

Visitors begin their experience in our digital greenhouse, where they choose the topic that directly impacts their families and communities, and write their hope for change. Issues include: Education, Economy, Equality, Health & Environment, Community, as well as Veterans and Foreign Affairs. Next, visitors print their hope (now entered into MSNBC’s database), attach it to a flower petal, connect it to a stem and plant it in our outdoor garden – a place where people literally put stakes in the ground.

The Growing Hope Tour began in Houston at Texas Southern University with stops in Atlanta and Charlotte. It culminated in New Orleans at the 20th Annual Essence Festival during Fourth of July weekend.

You can join in the conversation and submit your own hope by clicking here.

Cosmic Corner

K-Scharf-and-Friends-take-a-break-

Legendary artist (and my good friend) Kenny Scharf has been a fixture in the art world since sharing an apartment—called the Cosmic Closet—with the late Keith Haring in the 1980’s. Now, Kenny is painting the very same wall that Keith tagged so long ago at the corner of Bowery and Houston in New York City. And in true Kenny form, it’s Groovenian.

The mural coincides with Kenny’s new exhibit, Hot Glue Hullabaloo, at the Hole gallery just a few blocks away. Who needs LSD when you’ve got a glue gun? Trust me, it’s worth the trip.
