MKTG San Francisco: Laying A Solid Foundation for Their City’s Future

MKTG San Francisco took to the streets in the name of urban cultivation with their first official MKTG:Focus, 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility event. On Thursday, August 25, MKTG teamed up with Friends of the Urban Forest, whose mission is to promote a larger, healthier urban forest as part of the urban ecosystem. Our tough and willing West Coast colleagues spent their summer outting getting down and dirty without hesitation. MKTGers worked a stretch of three blocks in San Francisco’s thriving Dogpatch neighborhood, jumping ‘knee deep’ into garden beds- working on their foundations, soil amending and prepping for the planting that would happen a few days later.  Growing plants native to California was the focus, including the colorfully named Sticky Monkey Flower and Checkerbloom.

Though work is taken pretty seriously at MKTG San Francisco, they also know how to have fun. After giving back to their fair city, the San Fran team tapped into their competitive side and brought it back to the good ol’ days with a game of sloshball! (For all of you sloshball newbies, it is kickball accompanied by beer). With drink-in-hand, Team 2 threw in quite a few mighty defense plays but in the end, it was Team 1 who conquered the bases and brought the trophy home, ending a victorious day in the city by the bay.
